So, I'm not usually a fan of Sarah Silverman, but this has had me in stitches for the past day. It's just... it gets stuck in your head. And it proves that Matt Damon has one of the best senses of humor ever -- as if the articles from buddies George Clooney and Ben Affleck when he was voted People's Sexiest Man Alive weren't enough.

Poor spazzula was subjected to me alternately singing and humming this as we wandered through Target this afternoon *lol* It just gets stuck in your head!

It's that time of year where the applications are piling on my desk, and all I do for eight hours is decide whether people can or cannot come to the college. But you know what makes that much more enjoyable? John Barrowman *glee*

There is something about Captain Jack singing Christmas songs that just makes the day go by that much faster.

Note to self -- get winter cards after work today. Barnes & Noble is on the way home, you have no excuse *scolds self*

Falling down the stairs makes a bad morning.

Falling down the stairs with your work laptop makes an even worse morning.

Falling down the stairs with your work laptop and having your office tell you that if you can't fix it yourself, you'll have to wait three weeks to get back into town and let tech services look at it so you don't have to pay someone else to do it makes for a seriously crappy morning.

Deciding to say screw it and start taking the computer apart to try and fix the harddrive yourself because really, what else can you do to it that falling down the stairs didn't -- and making it turn on? *glee*

You, my dear laptop, are my bitch. I rock you. I don't know if I did it right, but I have jimmied you in such a way that you turn on and work and I am yay. Because three weeks without my database? Without NaNo -- because yes, I'm stupid enough to try and do that AGAIN this year? Without my vampires project? Oh no. That's just not cool. Not cool at all.

*goes to do a victory dance*

You know, I don't consider myself a terribly domestic person, but there are very few things more satisfying to me than cooking. Something about knowing that I created this, with my own hands -- I love it. And it's not like I usually have someone to cook for (save for the times when spazzula is kind enough to eat what I cook *lol*) so it's only for me. My roommates just don't appreciate the home cooked food appeal and many times would rather choose McNuggets over, say, my baked salmon and rosemary potatoes.

It's enough to give someone a complex *lol*

But that's one of my favorite things about being home for the couple days I am during my fall travel season -- cooking dinner. And breakfast. And lunch, if I didn't have to be at the office.

And that's my timer. I should go eat :)

Best question ever asked to one of us College Reps at a college fair.

And asked in all seriousness too.

Student: '...um, so what exactly is the difference between marine biology and a Marine?'

Admissions Officer: '... when there's a strike on US soil, they don't send in the marine biologists'

It's times like this where my job is like a circus *lol*
